
Africa International House USA, Inc. proudly presents the 35th Annual African Festival of the Arts (AFA), themed “Wèrèwèrèya: The Return.” The festival will take place Labor Day Weekend, August 30 – September 1, 2025, at the Sunken Garden at the DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago, IL.

As the nation’s largest Labor Day celebration of Black global cultures, the AFA attracts more than 75,000 attendees annually. This end-of-summer tradition features a replicated African village with curated vendors, dynamic stages, and immersive cultural experiences. This year, the legendary SOS Band will headline the festival on Labor Day.
