What is IMPACT 6?

The IMPACT 6 Apprenticeship Program is a 6-week paid learning and workforce experience designed to help young adults build real skills, grow their network, and get paid to learn and lead.

We don’t just give you a job—we help you S.H.I.F.T. into your full potential:

Behavioral Health & Case Management

Support the creation of intake forms, case notes, and wellness plans. Build communication and organizational skills in a support-focused environment.

Web Design, SEO & Tech Integration

Design websites, optimize content, and set up systems using AdVantage Suites. Great for tech-savvy creatives and problem solvers.

Marketing, Content & Brand Representation

Create social media content, assist with campaigns, and represent brands through digital media and modeling. Ideal for visual storytellers.

Civic Engagement & Event Planning

Help organize community events and public forums. Assist with outreach, logistics, and communication with local leaders.

Hospitality: Bartending, Server, Bus Support

Gain experience in customer service, food prep, and event support. Learn fast-paced teamwork and service excellence.

Sales & Business Development

Learn how to pitch, follow up with leads, and manage client relationships using CRM tools. Great for aspiring entrepreneurs and closers.

Important Note for Hospitality Apprentices

All participants in the Hospitality Track (bartending, server, bus support) are required to obtain both their Illinois Food Handler Certificate and Basset Certification (alcohol service safety). These are industry-standard credentials required to legally work in food and beverage service environments.

Please Note: You must be 21 years or older to obtain a Basset Certification and serve alcohol in the state of Illinois.

Certification costs are not included in your apprenticeship pay. However, guidance and support will be provided to help you complete both certifications affordably and on time.

Question 1: Do I get paid during the apprenticeship?

Yes! All participants are paid $15/hour for up to 25 flexible hours per week over 6 weeks.

Question 2: What are Meeting Mondays?

Meeting Mondays are 5-hour weekly sessions focused on personal and professional development—covering mindset, finances, customer service, branding, and more.

Question 3: Do I get to choose my track?

Yes. You'll select a preferred career focus area during onboarding, and we’ll match you with a role that fits your interests and strengths.

Question 4: Do I need experience to apply?

Results vary, but many clients begin seeing positive changes within a few weeks, with significant improvements typically taking place over several months.

Question 5: Are certifications required for hospitality roles?

Yes. Participants in the hospitality track (bartenders, servers, bus support) are required to complete a Food Handler and Basset Certification. These certifications are mandatory for service roles involving food or beverages.

Question 6: Do I have to pay for the certifications?

There is a separate fee for Food Handler and Basset certifications. Program assistants will help guide you through the process to complete them on time.
